I wish I had my 64...

I think this sounds pretty cool. Probably because I haven't played that game in ages, and was super addicting back in the day. I wish I had my 64... :(

Well, i think that the organ could have been better. Something about it seemed a bit off... and the piano too. Maybe a little too much white noise or something, I can't quite put my finger on it. And the bass thing (I think, I have to use earphones atm), just wasn't very good. Sounded a little "preset-ish", which I am not a fan of. And after a while, the piano/synth thing just gets annoying, because it doesn't sound right.

Other than that, I thing this is really cool, I like what you did with what I call the "circus" style of sounds!

BowserThedestructive responds:

ya :D but not actually the mID was the preset everything else was my creating ^_^ but once like before is why i made this V1.1 then ill try to fix it somemore to V1.2 :P which i fix the piano and bass and stuff thanks for the feedback ya i got my old n64 still and dk64 gold edition cover :D so ill work on a version 1.2 and make a better bass for it cus i plan on perfecting it to less circus to HARDCORE ^__^

Needs stronger drums, not odd hi-hats

The main synth sounds a bit "preset-ish", but I like how it sounds here for some reason. But in my opinion I think that the drums could have used a bit more "power" or something, they just didn't seem to have the punch that I think they should have. The piano is a really nice touch though, I think that you should be proud of those!

Those hi-hats don't sound right though. To me, I think you may have put too much of an effect or something. I think that they should sound more like a regular hi-hat, but it's nice to see that you tried something different (well, different to me).

kelwynshade responds:

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I don't see that often. I know exactly what you mean, however I actually went for the irregular on purpose with this. It was more of an experiment I think. Thanks for voicing your opinion. I appreciate it.

Drums are very good

Ya, the intro was pretty weak, but I must say that when the drums came in, it sounded very well done and complete. But whenever the piano is by itself, it just seems... a little too empty. Maybe you could have added a little something more, like a like a little reverb or something.

Again, I really like the drums, and I think you got something pretty good!

Yay for noise

Horay for teh noise "music". There's some pretty cool effects in there too.

Master-K responds:

WOOT GOOD REVIEWZ. thanks for the review.

Not much of a fan of this...

I don't really like this one, to me it sounds like it should have some kind of minimal percussion. With out it, this just seems like a very boring piece to me.

It's pretty melodic though, I'll give you that. A little something to emphasize the melody could have been used to make it less empty sounding in my opinion, maybe a few more instruments or percussion like I said.

TheReno responds:

True enough, and I did try to use something to bring it out, but it just didnt seem to wrok right, Ill try again later and resubmit me results.

Prettty good!

This was an ok loop, but after a while I think it got to be a little annoying. But I guess that's just 8-bit to me. And to me, it somehow doesn't seem to get that repetitive for a 29 second loop. Don't really know why, it's just pretty fun to hear this loop over and over a few times. Maybe it's just how nicely it does loop, compared to most loops on NG that I've heard :)

Maybe some more mixing?

At first, the high-pitched-sounding thing sounded a little out of place to me. But when you brought in some of the other instruments, it made it somehow sound "better". I can't say why, but it just seemed like they filled the parts that were missing.

After you introduce everything, it reminds me of some kind of crazy casino/ amusement park thing. It's just how the low/ bass synth sounds so "jumpy" or something, like some fun-sounding place or something.

This sounds good overall, but I think it was just a little bit too repetitive.

Awesome!

This is a great cover/mix of the original! It sounded almost the same as the original, but with some original elements of your own that was really cool. I loved the brass that you had, and it sort of gave it that sound of being a little jazz-ier, and and really made this track sound great. The only thing that I don't really like is the fact that it fades out, because it would have been really good to hear this loop :'(

Ah, well, I still love it :D

Sasha-Tarquin responds:

Haha thanks very much, yea i wanted to give it a jazzy element so i used muted trumpets, trombones and tuba :o)

Thanks again

Awesome

Isn't making music with friends and beer just a great combination? I just wish there would be like, a studio recording, because the words ot the song are a little hard to hear sometimes.

Cool guitar skills, too!

madd0pe responds:

Hell yes... yeah we are way to poor for all that but hoping to get some equipment to re-record some of our songs soon.... Yeah that guitar progression is actually decently hard to play it having very fast chord changes cant hear it to well though and the guy playing the electric was a little more drunk than us cause he was off timing most of the time but oh well... thanks for the review...

See those black records on my Audio Submissions? That means those don't need reviews, I've moved way past those in skill. Try and reivew the first two or three songs please ;D
